Jake is one of those players who comprehends the game so well that he makes others around him better. Jake's presence on the field makes the team defense smarter and more cohesive. This is probably true off the field as well. He played a key role on the man-down unit in 2007, as well as seeing time as a close defenseman. As we expand our defensive playbook in 2008, Jake will be relied upon to help us execute it....2007: Played in all 14 games for the Bears...Picked-up seven ground balls, including a season high three ground balls vs. Bellarmine...Secondary School Background: A graduate of Ward Melville High School where he lettered in lacrosse (2) and basketball (2)...Named to All-County and All-Division Lacrosse Teams...Winner of the Coaches Award for Team Leadership...Played in the Suffolk County Exceptional Senior Game...Twice a member of the top defensive unit on Long Island, yielding 4.13 goals against in 2005 and 3.75 goals against in 2006...Made the All-Star teams at the Four-Star Challenge Camp and the Brown Camp...New York State Scholar-Athlete Award winner...2006 Suffolk Zone Award for outstanding achievement in physical education...Personal: The son of John Wastermann and Lisa Arbaszewski of Setauket...Has three sisters, Jessica, Sandy and Kelly...Enjoys badminton, football, movies and music...Undecided on his concentration..
