May 12, 2008 -Senior men's track and field standout Ozzie Myers (Chittenango, NY) was awarded First Team All-Ivy honors after earning the
steeplechase title at the 2008 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships hosted by Yale University last weekend. Myers' 9:08.72 in the 3,000-meter race edged out Cornell's Ian Ward by a tenth of a second and beat 15 other competitors. His time also qualified him for the IC4A Championships, which will be hosted by Princeton, this coming weekend.

May 5, 2008 -Freshman men's lacrosse player Andrew Feinberg (Owings Mills, MD) was named Ivy Rookie of the Week for the third time this year after scoring two goals in the Bears' 6-5 win over Princeton for the 2008 Ivy League Championship. Feinberg scored the two biggest goals of the season in the victory. With the score tied, 4-4, Feinberg took over for the Bears, scoring with 8:33 left in the third quarter to give Brown the lead for good, 5-4. He then scored what proved to be the game-winning goal when he intercepted a Princeton pass in front of the Tigers goal and fired a shot past the goalie, to give the Bears a 6-4 advantage with 2:21 left in the quarter. Feinberg finished the season with 21 goals.

April 28, 2008 - A co-captain of the Brown men's crew, senior Colin Keogh (Greenwich, CT) has helped the squad to a 5-0 record (3-0 Ivy) as a member of the varsity eight boat. Keogh sits in the seven seat, helping the Brown men reach #2 in the national rankings. Over the weekend, the Bears earned the Atalanta Cup with a victory over Dartmouth. The varsity eight boat won its final home race of the 2008 season, posting a time of 5:34.28, 19 seconds faster than the Big Green.

April 21, 2008 - Freshman women's tennis standout Bianca Aboubakare (Orange, CA) finished her stellar rookie season with three more victories as Brown split a pair of 4-3 matches with Dartmouth and Harvard. She won both of her singles matches at #1 and then also picked up victory at #1 doubles against Harvard. For the season, she was 28-6 in singles, including a 16-3 mark in dual matches at #1 (6-1 in the Ivy League). Her doubles record was 20-12, including a 14-5 dual mark at #1 (5-2 in the Ivy League). Overall, Aboubakare compiled a 48-18 record. Her 28 singles wins rank second all-time at Brown, while her 20 doubles wins are sixth all-time, and her 48 combined wins rank fourth. She also combined with doubles partner Marisa Schonfeld '11 to post 19 doubles wins, which is a new Brown record, passing the old mark of 17, which was accomplished in 1997.

April 14, 2008 - Senior men's tennis captain Saurabh Kohli (Colaba Mumbai, India) had a big week for the Bears, winning all four of his matches, two at #1 singles and two at #1 doubles, as Brown swept Cornell (W, 6-1) and Columbia (W, 5-2). The two victories give Brown a 3-1 Ivy League record and sole possession of second place in the standings, as the Bears remain alive in their quest for the 2008 Ivy League Title. Kohli won his match against Cornell in straight sets and posted doubles scores of 8-6 (against Cornell) and 8-4 (against Columbia).

April 7, 2008 - Sophomore Lauren Presant (Poway, CA) of the women's water polo team was named CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week for the second time in a row after scoring 14 goals in three big weekend wins for the Bears, including two late comebacks against teams ranked higher in the CWPA poll. Against Maryland, Presant scored five goals and had four steals in a 10-9 Brown win, with the Bears coming back from a three-goal deficit in the third quarter to go ahead with 40 seconds remaining. Later in the day against #20 Bucknell, Presant scored four goals, all in the fourth quarter, to help her team erase a four-goal deficit to force overtime. The Bears eventually won on a penalty shot with no time remaining in overtime, 9-8. On Sunday, Presant out-scored George Washington herself, scoring five goals and adding two assists in an 11-4 Brown win. She has a team-high 62 goals in 20 games played this season and was an ACWPC All-Academic honoree last season.

Mar. 31, 2008 - Junior women's lacrosse midfielder Lauren Vitkus (Skaneateles, NY) was named the Ivy League's Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Bears to wins over Marist and #20 Dartmouth last week. Vitkus had five goals in the two games, all of which came in the decisive second half of each contest, and also added an assist, while leading Brown to its first victory over Dartmouth in 10 years. She was also a force on the draw control, winning five total draw controls in the two games, including the last draw of each game as Brown was able to control the ball for the final minutes of play, securing each win. The Bears' leading scorer, Vitkus currently ranks ninth in the Ivy League with 2.00 goals per game and third with 2.78 draw controls per game. In Ivy games only, she is third with 3.00 goals per game, fourth with 4.00 points per game, and third with 3.00 draw controls per game. Vitkus is concentrating in Engineering.

Mar. 24, 2008 - Senior baseball player JJ Eno (Kahului, HI) was a key player in Brown's three-game, 41-run outburst over the weekend, going 7-for-14 with a double and a home run. Eno drove in four runs and scored three, posting a team-high .786 slugging percentage. For the season, he leads the Bears' balanced offensive attack with a .528 slugging percentage, ranking second on the squad with a .361 batting average and .439 on-base percentage. A senior Neuroscience concentrator who will attend Brown's Warren Alpert Medical School after graduation as part of the Program in Liberal Medical Education, the former walk-on was a Second Team Academic All-American last season. After spending time at second base, in the outfield, and at designated hitter in his previous two seasons, Eno has moved to first base this year to help fill a need in the field for the Bears.

Mar. 17, 2008 - Junior men's lacrosse goalie Jordan Burke (Potomac, MD) was named Ivy League Player of the Week after helping to lead the Bears to a 4-3 win over UMass. Burke was the difference in the win, making 16 saves in limiting the Minutemen to just three goals. Burke kept UMass scoreless for a span of 48 minutes and 19 seconds from the first quarter to the fourth quarter, making 12 saves over that time. He needed to be on, as the Minutemen peppered the Brown goal with 38 shots.

Mar. 10, 2008 - Freshman men's diver Jonathan Speed (Jupiter, FL) won the 3-meter dive in the final day of the 2008 EISL Championships to earn First Team All-Ivy honors in his first career championship meet. Seeded 8th after prelims, Speed nailed all six of his dives and finished with a total of 333.95 points, 4.2 more than the second place finisher. Speed also scored a 286.50 to finish in ninth place on the 1-meter dive.

Mar. 3, 2008 - Nicole Burns (Newburgh, NY), a junior on the track and field team, earned First Team All-Ivy in the 400-meter dash, after helping to lead Brown to a second place finish at the 2008 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. Burns' swift 55.78 seconds in the 400-meter dash earned first place at Heps, while she also came in second place in the 200m (25.00) to earns Second Team All-Ivy honors.

Feb. 25, 2008 - Women's fencing sophomore Randy Alevi (Old Westbury, NY) became the first Brown fencer to win an IFA Championship last weekend, winning the draw in women's saber. With a 6-5 record in the "A" draw for round-robin play, Alevi was the #5 seed in the 16-fencer bracket, defeating three other All-Ivy fencers among four wins en route to the title. A Judaic Studies concentrator who is also studying pre-med, she has already been named First Team All-Northeast Fencing Conference and Second Team All-Ivy this season, and she will look to earn a return trip to the NCAA Championships at Regionals this weekend, hoping to improve upon her Honorable Mention All-American finish last year.

Feb. 18, 2008 - Women's Basketball freshman Sadiea Williams (Lunenburg, MA) had solid back-to-back performances over the weekend, netting 10 points on 4 of 7 shooting in Brown's victory over Penn Friday night. The next night against Princeton, Williams scored 10 points for the second night in a row, finishing the weekend with 12 rebounds and two assists. Williams, whose is undecided on a concentration, currently leads the Bears with 7.5 points per game and is second on the team with 101 rebounds.

Feb. 11, 2008 - Women's Swimming senior Ally Wyatt (Ypsilanti, MI) helped to lead Brown to a 162-138 victory over Cornell. She won both the 100 breast (1:08.28) and the 200 breast (2:27.52), and was also a part of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:49.46). In addition, the Art-Semiotics concentrator was also a part of the 400 free relay team that finished in third with a time of 3:39.82.

Feb. 4, 2008 - Men's Ice Hockey sophomore Dan Rosen (Syosset, NY) was named ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week after helping to lead the Bears to their first sweep of the season, their first league sweep since November, 2005, and their first win over Dartmouth since November, 2002. On Friday night against Harvard, Rosen stopped 32 shots, including 28 in the final two periods as Brown earned a 4-2 victory. The next night against Dartmouth, Rosen recorded his ninth 30+ save game with 36 stops, as the Bears posted a 4-3 win. For the weekend, he finished with a .932 save percentage and a 2.50 goals against average.

Jan. 28, 2008 - Women's Squash senior Minoo Fadaifard (Brooklyn, NY) earned wins in all five matches this week, helping the Brown women's squash team to a 5-0 record. Fadaifard earned at 3-0 win over Amherst at number four and a 3-0 victory over Mt. Holyoke at number five in a double header on Tuesday. On Saturday, Fadaifard earned three wins, a 3-1 decision over Bowdoin at number three, a 3-0 victory over Bates at number five, and a 3-0 win over St. Lawrence at number three.

Jan. 21, 2008 - Women's Skiing freshman Krista Consiglio (Bethany, CT) helped lead Brown to a second place finish in Friday's Giant Slalom race with a time of 2:20.55, nearly two seconds faster than the second place finisher. In Saturday's Slalom, Consiglio was second, behind first place by just .3 seconds, and Brown's only skier in the top 15 as Brown took fifth place. In her first four collegiate races, she has been Brown's top finisher in all of the races, with a ninth and second place finish last week in addition to this week's top two finishes.

Jan. 14, 2008 - Women's Ice Hockey junior Nicole Stock (Buffalo Grove, IL) led the Bears to a split in ECAC Hockey contests against Quinnipiac and Princeton, making 61 saves on 63 shots. Her 22 saves against Quinnipiac on Friday helped the Bears to a 6-1 win. The next day, she made 39 saves in a 2-0 loss to Princeton, marking the 11th time in 17 starts she has topped 30. For her efforts, she was named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week. Stock is currently ninth in the country with a .927 save percentage, and her streak of 26 consecutive games started is Brown's longest since Ali Brewer '00 started 68 in a row from 1998 to 2000.

Jan. 7, 2008 - Wrestling senior Jeff Schell (Zion Grove, PA) went 4-0 on Saturday as the Bears split four matches at the Lone Star Duals, bringing his record to 11-5 on the year. Schell won three of his matches at 133 pounds by decision, including a 6-0 win over Drew Hammen of Wisconsin, and one by major decision, a 10-1 victory that provided four crucial points in Brown's 19-15 win over Air Force. For his career, Schell has a 68-35 record at 125 and 133. He was ranked sixth at 133 in the EIWA's preseason rankings.

Jan. 2, 2008 - Men's Basketball senior Damon Huffman (Petoskey, MI) helped to lead Brown to a 1-1 week with 44 points in two games, including the game-winning basket with 1.7 seconds remaining to lift the Bears to a 79-78 victory over Army and finish with a team-high 23 points on 6-9 shooting, including 4-7 from three-point range. Earlier in the week against Notre Dame, Huffman led Brown with a game-high 21 points, while becoming the 20th player in Brown basketball history to record his 1,000th career point.

Dec. 10, 2007 - Women's Ice Hockey sophomore Andrea Hunter (Fulton, NY) scored the game-tying goal at Yale on Sunday with just 1:20 remaining in the third period, sending the Bears and Bulldogs to a 2-2 tie. The goal was Hunter's first of the season. Last year, Hunter led the Bears with 20 assists, and was second with nine goals and 29 points.

Dec. 3, 2007 - Men's Swimming senior Brian Kelly (Weston, MA) helped to lead Brown to a third place finish at the 2007 Big Al Invitational at Princeton. Kelly was a part of four Brown relay teams that finished in the top three, posting a second-place finish in both the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay, and a third-place finish in both the 400 Medley Relay and the 800 Free Relay. In three of these four relays, the Bears finished behind only Penn State, which won all four of them and took first and second in the 400 Medley Relay. Individually, Kelly earned three top-10 finishes, including two top-five, earning third in the 100 Free, fourth in the 50 Free, and ninth in the 200 Free.

Nov. 26, 2007 - Men's Basketball Freshman Peter Sullivan (Wilmette, IL) earned Ivy Rookie of the Week honors after helping to lead Brown to a 73-67 win over Northwestern in Evanston, the Bears' second-ever win over a Big 10 Team. Sullivan, who scored 16 of his game-high 19 points in the second half, made both ends of a one-and-one with 3:31 remaining to give Brown the lead for good, 66-64. After the Wildcats drew to within one at 68-67, Sullivan helped put the game away by converting another one-and-one with 22 seconds remaining. He finished the game with 19 points on 5 of 7 shooting, including 3 of 5 from behind the three-point arc, and 6 of 6 free throws.
