The rink itself has been significantly enhanced with new NHL dasher boards and glass panels, improved lighting, the installation of new insulated windows, and the painting of the interior dome. Additionally, the BHA has created two new picture galleries in Meehan Auditorium to provide greater visibility and appreciation of Brown's hockey heritage. The team pictures from 1897 to date, which were formerly displayed in the BHA Room, have been enlarged, matted and individually framed, with the members of each team identified on their respective photo. The pictures have been mounted on the East end of the arena and Mrs. Dorothy Cohn dedicated the gallery in memory of her late husband, Eugene '44, prior to the opening home game of the 1999-2000 season. The photographs of those individuals who have been inducted into the Brown Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of their accomplishments in ice hockey have been moved from the foyer of the varsity locker room to a more prominent location on the West end of the arena. The $4.3 million project was made possible through the generosity of Brown alumni, alumnae, parents, and friends. Those benefactors, in particular the Pollard Family for their lead gift of $1 million, were recognized on March 1, 2003 before the Brown men's game against Clarkson. In recognition of this wonderful commitment, from this point forward the Brown hockey rink will be known as "Pollard Family Rink in Meehan Auditorium."
